Our History
From a Farm Outside Rome
Chef Luciano Canova's culinary journey began on a farm outside Rome, where family meals shaped his passion for cooking. He attended the Culinary Institute of Italy and gained international experience working in Switzerland, Germany, and aboard cruise ships.
In 1991, Luciano partnered with Joe Lorusso and his son Gerry to establish Luciano's. His vision was clear: create a restaurant that would provide a five-star experience through the atmosphere, cuisine and exceptional service.
With over two decades as an executive chef, Luciano has maintained rigorous standards — sourcing premium ingredients imported directly from Italy and preparing fresh pasta daily in-house, alongside aged beef and artisanal cheeses sourced globally. These commitments to quality earned him the Gold and Silver Spoon Award and a nomination for Best Chef in America.
The dining environment reflects his upscale aspirations through tablecloths and elegant décor, complemented by experienced servers knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. Luciano remains actively present at his Wrentham location, personally greeting guests and ensuring each visitor receives the most satisfying experience possible.
